The President of Uzbekistan received the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran

Yesterday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our state, issues of further enhancing collaboration between Uzbekistan and Iran, the current aspects of regional cooperation were considered.

Mr. Ali Shamkhani conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, to the President of Uzbekistan.

The Leader of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of cooperation following the agreements reached at the highest level. The trade turnover is growing, industrial cooperation between the leading enterprises and companies of the two countries is deepening.

Last month, a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a Business Forum were successfully held in the city of Tehran. Several other important events are planned.

The practical results of the first meeting of the Joint Commission on Security, held today in the city of Tashkent, were positively assessed.

During the talks, the main attention was paid to the promotion of partnership projects and programs in trade, economic, transport and communication areas, the continuation of effective cooperation in ensuring regional security, including countering the growing threats of terrorism, extremism, transnational crime and drug trafficking.

Views were exchanged on the current situation in Afghanistan and measures to provide the necessary assistance to overcome the humanitarian crisis in the country.
