The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss joint plans to enhance bilateral cooperation

During a telephone conversation on December 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his birthday.

The President of Uzbekistan emphasized the historical role of the Leader of Azerbaijan in strengthening independence, restoring territorial integrity, ensuring sustainable development, and enhancing the international authority of the country.

The presidents considered current issues of further enhancing and strengthening the friendship and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the context of implementing agreements at the highest level.

The fruitful results of joint work in the current Year of Intensive Development of Bilateral Cooperation were noted with deep satisfaction.

The volumes of mutual trade turnover are growing dynamically, and cooperation projects in the automotive industry, textile, electrical engineering, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors are in the active phase. A rich program of cultural and humanitarian exchange is being implemented.

The heads of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan also exchanged views on the international agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
