On May 14, a delegation led by Mississippi Governor Phillip Bryant arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit. During the visit, the U.S. delegation visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
High-ranking foreign guests from among representatives of Mississippi state administration, enterprises and companies conducting their activities in the field of trade, innovation, industry, agricultural and educational industry became familiar with the infrastructure and educational material base of the academy, which is the center of military science and the leading higher military education institution of the country. The guests held negotiations with the faculty. In particular, representatives of the delegation became familiar with the activity of Professor Gregory Gleason, an employee of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, at the Academy.
Since November 2018, Professor Gregory Gleason has successfully conducted training courses on international security at the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
The guests visited the museum of history of the Academy. Examined the classrooms, the information resource center and the living conditions created for the cadets.

The Adjutant General of Mississippi, Commanding General of Mississippi Army and Air National Guard, Major General Janson D. Boyles expressed hope for further strengthening bilateral cooperation and pleasure of another stay in the country. He noted the importance of increasing the exchange of experience between the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the United States.
As reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan, Major General Janson D. Boyles has already paid an official visit to Uzbekistan in September last year.
