The badge "For the Protection of Human Rights" was established in 2020 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The purpose of creating this sign is to provide material and moral incentives and rewards to citizens and organizations that have made significant contributions to the protection of human rights and freedoms, promoting the example and experience of those who set an example in this work. It is aimed at strengthening the activities of government bodies, civil society institutions and citizens in the field of human rights.
Citizens of Uzbekistan can be nominated for award of this badge for services in the protection of human rights and freedoms, active participation in the promotion of human rights, human rights education, contribution to the development of human rights traditions among young people, significant achievements in the development and management of human rights organizations, effective scientific work in the field of human rights.
