The youth national team, which won the Asian Cup in football, was solemnly welcomed in Tashkent

Uzbekistan’s youth national football team returned to their homeland yesterday after a brilliant performance at the U17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. Our guys showed real character and won the championship title, bringing victory to the country.

The solemn meeting was held at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. The event was attended by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Head of the Presidential Administration Department Odil Abdurakhmanov, the leadership of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, the Football Association, as well as relatives of football players, fans and media representatives.

Officials praised the performance of the national team throughout the tournament, especially the strong-willed victory in the final against the home team. The players were wished continued success, perseverance and inspiration in the future.

Congratulations from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, as well as a decree on awarding the winners and participants of the tournament were read out.

The ceremony ended with the presentation of gifts from the President: the young football players received the keys to the Cobalt cars, and the Equinox to the head coach.
