TOURISM DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT FOR 2017-2021 DISCUSSED

The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on development of tourism held a round table meeting, which addressed the issue of execution of the Presidential Decree "On measures to ensure accelerated development of the tourism industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and the concept of tourism industry development in 2017-2021.

The State Committee on tourism development organized the event. The Chairman of the Committee Sharapov Anvar opened the meeting.

The round table was attended by: First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Senate of Oliy Majlis on international relations, foreign economic relations, foreign investment and tourism S. Safayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry A. Shaykhov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Khakimov, Vice Minister of labor B. Nizamov, employees of the Ministry of health, State Committee for Nature Protection, NAC "Uzbekistan Airways", JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" and other agencies.

The staff of the Committee on tourism development made presentations on the theme: "Preliminary plan of the concept of tourism development in 2017-2021.", "Promotion of tourist potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan: status, recommendations, proposals, mechanisms of implementation", "Prospects of investment growth in the tourism industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Upon completion of each report, the participants of the meeting put forward a number of questions and scrutinized the essence of the reports, listened to the opinions of experts of various sectors and discussed ways of their solution.

The parties have agreed to create a working group comprised of representatives of all interested ministries and departments.
