Turkey's Aksa Energy to build a gas power plant in Uzbekistan

Turkey’s Aksa Energy is implementing an investment project in Uzbekistan on building a new gas power plant in Tashkent with a combined cycle capacity of 240 MW. The project is carried out based on an agreement signed by the company with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Despite certain difficulties arising from the global coronavirus pandemic, the company intends to complete the construction of the station in a year. To speed up the work, it is planned to transfer some of the company’s specialists from other countries to Uzbekistan.

The project is carried out based on public-private partnership. Aksa Energy will build and operate the power plant for 25 years. The Uzbek side has taken upon itself guarantees to provide the plant with natural gas and purchase electricity generated by it.
