UN appoints new Resident Coordinator for Uzbekistan

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator Sabine Machl, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

"Pleased to meet the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan H.E. Sabine Machl, – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram channel. – The Reforms Strategy Uzbekistan-2030 is fully aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The Government of Uzbekistan has a broad cooperation agenda with the UN and its bodies. Our close cooperation has been witnessing high dynamics in all directions. 9 resolutions initiated by Uzbekistan have been adopted by the UN recently, 3 in 2024. Even more is to come. MFA of Uzbekistan stands ready to provide all the necessary support to the team of the UN Office in Uzbekistan".
Experienced Austrian and international diplomat Sabine Mahl replaced Roli Asthana, who headed the UN team in Uzbekistan from 2022 to 2023.
