Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Madrakhimov met with the UNODC Regional Representative for Central Asia Ashita Mittal, who is completing her diplomatic mission, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties highly appreciated the established level of interaction between Uzbekistan and the UNODC, highlighting the areas of combating threats associated with illicit drug trafficking and consumption, organized crime, human trafficking and international terrorism.
During the conversation, the contribution of Ashita Mittal to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNODC, as well as efforts to develop the project activities of the Office were noted.
In turn, Ashita Mittal emphasized her sincere gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for supporting her activities.
It is worth recalling that Ashita Mittal has headed the regional office of UNODC since June 2014.
