Uzbekistan, Afghanistan delegations discuss practical aspects of the implementation of the previously reached agreements

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Mohammad Haneef Atmar and the Head of the Administration of the President, Mohammad Shaker Kargar, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the current issues of cooperation and the course of implementation of agreements in trade, economic, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the key point on the agenda was the practical aspects of interaction within the framework of the roadmap for the implementation of the project for the construction of the Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway, adopted on February 2 in Tashkent.

The implementation of the project for the construction of the Surkhan – Puli-Khumri power line was discussed.

The parties exchanged views on measures to actively involve entrepreneurs of the two countries in joint investment and trade activities. They also agreed to accelerate the elaboration of the Agreement on Mutual Encouragement and Protection of Investments and the Agreement on the Promotion of Mutual Trade.
