Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Presidents discuss current issues of cooperation development

On November 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The President of Azerbaijan warmly congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the Presidential elections, wishing him great success in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of Uzbekistan people.

In turn, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Leader and the fraternal people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming national holiday – Victory Day, expressing wishes for peace and further progress.

Current issues of strengthening strategic partnership and enhancing multifaceted cooperation were discussed.

The leaders noted with deep satisfaction the steady growth of mutual trade indicators and the number of joint projects in various sectors of the economy.

The launch of car production in Hajigabul this year, projects in agriculture and sericulture were mentioned as successful examples of cooperation.

The National Industrial Exhibition of Uzbekistan will be held in Baku next month. The parties are preparing for meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.

Issues of cooperation in the transport-communication sphere, in particular, the resumption of flights between the capitals were also discussed.

The importance of holding regular joint cultural-humanitarian events in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was emphasized.

The Presidents exchanged views on the most important aspects of regional cooperation, including the agenda of the upcoming Turkic Council Summit. The schedule of meetings at the highest level was considered.
