Uzbekistan delegation attends Diplomatic Conference in South Africa

On November 11-15, 2019, delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the Diplomatic Conference on the adoption of the MAC Protocol (mining-agriculture-construction) to the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment of November 16, 2001, in Pretoria, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The Cape Town Convention system is designed to bring significant economic benefits, mainly to developing countries, by providing access to commercial financing for mobile equipment that was previously unavailable or available only at a relatively high price.

Within the framework of the conference, a meeting was held with the Secretary-General of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) Ignacio Tirado, during which the parties discussed prospects for development of cooperation of Uzbekistan with this structure, the country’s accession to other conventions and legal instruments adopted within the framework of UNIDROIT, as well as opportunities of conducting a workshop in Tashkent to study the implementation of the Cape Town Convention and its protocols.
