Uzbekistan delegation attends World Halal Conference in Malaysia

Uzbekistan representatives have taken part in the World Halal Conference (WHC-2020) in the capital city of Malaysia, reports IA “Dunyo” correspondent.

Uzbekistan was represented by the staff of the Embassy, who presented the measures taken in the country to improve the quality and competitiveness of products by ensuring the compliance of national standards with international requirements, including those for halal products, and informed about the plans to enter foreign markets.

Negotiations were held with the CEO of Halal Development Corporation, Hairol Ariffein Sahari, to discuss the development of appropriate certification in Uzbekistan with the assistance of the Malaysian side, including through the possible opening of the Centre of Halal Industry Excellence in Tashkent. The meeting was also attended by JAKIM representatives.

An agreement was reached to organize virtual talks between the leadership of Uzstandard Agency and JAKIM to discuss the implementation and development of halal industry in Uzbekistan, as well as to hold a webinar for the agency’s employees in November.
