UZBEKISTAN DELEGATION'S MEETINGS AT THE U.S. CONGRESS

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoyev met with Congressmen Trent Kelly (Mississippi) and Don Bacon (Nebraska), in the United States House of Representatives.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, at the meeting, Congressman Trent Kelly expressed sincere gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for awarding him the Dustlik Order. He emphasized that he was looking forward to his next visit to Uzbekistan as part of the U.S. Congress delegation. During their stay in the country, the American delegation plans to visit Karakalpakstan and the Aral Sea region, as well as hold official meetings and negotiations in Tashkent.

Congressman Don Bacon, speaking about prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, noted that Nebraska ranks 1st in the United States in terms of meat production, 3rd in soybean and corn production, as well as is one of the leading dairy producers. The state provides 85% of the United States sowing fields with modern irrigation technologies, including rain irrigation systems.

An agreement was reached with Don Bacon on organization of a visit of a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan to Nebraska for establishing cooperation in production and supply of meat, as well as introduction of rain irrigation technologies.
