Uzbekistan Deputy FM meets with UNICEF Regional Director

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Gayrat Fozilov met with UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Afshan Khan, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the International Web Forum on ensuring inclusion for children with disabilities.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNICEF, as well as outlined urgent tasks for the future.

UNICEF Regional Director Afshan Khan welcomed the “Mehr” humanitarian action carried out by the Government of Uzbekistan to return fellow citizens, especially women and children from conflict zones, as well as their reintegration into society and create the necessary conditions for them.

The main attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects within the framework of the Fund’s new Country Programme of Cooperation for Uzbekistan for 2021-2025.
