Uzbekistan is among the countries that have achieved the fastest growth in the Rule of Law Index

The Ministry of Justice hosted an online workshop with the participation of government officials, organizations, and representatives of the World Justice Project on “Uzbekistan in the Rule of Law Index”.

Deputy Minister of Justice M. Ikramov, Executive Director of the World Justice Project Elizabeth Andersen, and Head of the Effective Management program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) Victor Kessler attended the event.

Representatives of the World Justice Project provided detailed information on the methodology for compiling the Rule of Law Index, the data collection process, and the verification of its reliability. International experts noted that Uzbekistan has achieved the fastest growth in this index in recent years.

Responsible employees of the Ministry of Justice gave a presentation on the ongoing work of ensuring the rule of law in the country.

At the event, representatives of the World Justice Project recommended eliminating factors that negatively affect Uzbekistan’s position in the index mentioned above. Elizabeth Andersen noted that the Regional Rule of Law Index introduced in the country is a positive experience and can be recommended to other countries as an example.

Following the workshop, the parties received answers to their questions and agreed to continue mutual dialogue and cooperation.
