Uzbekistan – Italy political consultations take place in Rome

Rome hosted the 7th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Italy, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the delegations of the parties were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano.

The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.

The main attention was paid to the issues of enhancing economic diplomacy. In this context, proposals were considered to increase mutual trade, implement promising joint investment projects and trade contracts.

Aspects of interaction within the framework of the UN, the EU, the dialogue “Italy – Central Asia” and other multilateral structures were analyzed.

Mutual interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in culture, healthcare, enhancing contacts between scientific and educational institutions.

The parties exchanged views on expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation with the development of relevant and practically significant documents.
