Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan Presidents discuss prospects for enhancing cooperation

Today, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the head of our state, current issues of further development of Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan strategic partnership and expansion of multifaceted cooperation were considered.

The main attention was paid to the promotion of practical cooperation, primarily to increasing the volume of bilateral trade, the preparation and implementation of long-term cooperation projects in the mechanical engineering, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, textile and food industries, and other priority areas.

The importance of intensifying regional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchange was also noted.

An agreement was reached on the joint elaboration of new directions and specific programs of mutually beneficial cooperation by the governments of the two countries.

The Heads of state also considered the schedule of the upcoming high-level meetings.
