Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan Presidents hold a telephone conversation

During a telephone conversation on December 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov on his birthday.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely wished the Leader of Kyrgyzstan good health, family happiness, and great success in implementing large-scale reforms aimed at ensuring the sustainable socio-economic development of the country and the well-being and prosperity of the fraternal Kyrgyz people.

The current issues of further enhancing and strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level.

The heads of state noted with satisfaction the growing dynamics in the development of bilateral trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.

Trade turnover since the beginning of the year has exceeded $700 million. The joint investment fund is successfully operating, cooperation projects are being implemented in mechanical engineering, energy, electrical engineering, textile, agricultural and other industries. Interregional ties, business contacts, and cultural exchange have intensified.

The importance of accelerating large regional infrastructure projects in the energy and transport sectors was noted.

The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan also exchanged views on regional cooperation in Central Asia and discussed the schedule of the upcoming joint events.
