Legal services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman held consultations on inventory and improvement of the legal framework of bilateral cooperation, via videoconference.

The experts carried out an inventory of the signed bilateral documents, reviewed the current state of the legal framework, as well as discussed the progress in working out the draft documents that are under consideration by the parties.

The parties agreed to accelerate the elaboration of draft intergovernmental agreements on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs affairs and an interdepartmental memorandum in employment and development of labor resources in order to prepare them for signing during the upcoming meeting of Uzbekistan – Oman Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Issues, which is scheduled for October.

An agreement was reached to form a working group of the parties with participation of representatives of the involved ministries and agencies of the two countries to promptly resolve these issues.

Information was exchanged on participation of the parties in the international rulemaking process.
