Uzbekistan plans to take part in the Expo 2025 Osaka

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has received the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Satoshi Nakanishi.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

Views were exchanged on the key issues of the international and regional agenda, in particular the current situation in Afghanistan. The Japanese side expressed its readiness for multilateral cooperation with interested parties to ensure security and sustainable development in the region.

The parties agreed to start joint work on the preparation for the 3rd meeting of the bilateral Interparliamentary Forum and the 16th joint meeting of Uzbekistan – Japan and Japan – Uzbekistan committees for economic cooperation with the organization of mutual visits of officials of the two countries.

The Japanese side welcomed Uzbekistan’s plans to take part in the Expo 2025 in Osaka with a national pavilion and expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive practical assistance in resolving organizational issues.

An agreement was reached on joint preparations for holding the Year of Uzbekistan in Japan and the Year of Japan in Uzbekistan in 2022 within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
