Uzbekistan – Russia Intergovernmental Negotiations

On June 17 this year, Uzbekistan – Russia intergovernmental negotiations took place under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation A. Overchuk. The event, dedicated to discussing the current state and prospects for development of multifaceted bilateral cooperation, was also attended by heads of key ministries and agencies of the two countries.

An agreement was reached to accelerate the implementation of agreed projects and initiatives with a monthly consideration of their implementation and informing the business community of Uzbekistan and Russia about the opportunities available to build up investment partnership and mechanisms for increasing bilateral trade. Cooperation in logistics were also considered.

Following the negotiations, the parties emphasized their strong mutual intentions to continue to comprehensively study the promising areas of growth of investment and trade-economic cooperation and to jointly ensure qualitative and timely implementation of the agreements reached.
