The Embassy of Uzbekistan in France, together with the French Enterprise Movement MEDEF Île-de-France, organized a presentation of Uzbekistan’s investment potential as part of a webinar on “Entrepreneurs, to ensure your growth, think about opportunities in the South Caucasus and Central Asia”.
The event was attended by representatives of the Paris Île-de-France Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, MEDEF International, Bpifrance Assurance Export, Team France Export Ile-de-France network, French customs authorities, as well as French companies interested in doing business in Central Asia, in particular in Uzbekistan.
The participants got acquainted with the presentation “Invest in New Uzbekistan”. They were informed in detail about the economic reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at creating a favorable investment climate.
At the webinar, the readiness of the Uzbek side to conduct joint targeted work with potential French investors to attract them to the implementation of investment projects for the modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of Uzbekistan’s industry, including within the framework of free economic zones, was noted.
The participants were provided with detailed information on the macroeconomic indicators of the country, opportunities and conditions created for foreign investors. The main attention was paid to the country’s export potential and its promotion on the French market.
The successful experience in Uzbekistan market of such French companies as Orano, Total Eren, Suez, Veolia, Renault, EDF, Lactalis, Rungis Semmaris, Carrefour, Assystem, Bi1-Schiever, Orex Loisirs, Compagnie des Alpes, Geode, Egis was also noted.
The participants were invited to the First Tashkent International Investment Forum to be held in March this year.
Following the event, an agreement was reached with MEDEF Île-de-France on the implementation of close joint work to establish and develop mutually beneficial cooperation between potential partners of Uzbekistan and France.
