Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister holds a phone call with the U.S. Secretary of State

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a telephone conversation with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed the state and prospects of further deepening multifaceted Uzbekistan – American strategic partnership.

The American side highly appreciated the democratic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. The achieved results in combating human trafficking and ensuring freedom of religion were noted.

The parties emphasized the importance of continuing active interaction within the framework of the C5+1 format.

The main attention was paid to the issues of involving Afghanistan in the regional integration process to restore the country’s socio-economic life in the post-conflict period.

The Uzbek FM invited the U.S. Secretary of State to the International High-Level Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” to be held in July this year in Tashkent.
