Uzbekistan's Parkent to host a Vine Festival

Delegation of the Hokimiyat of Tashkent region has met with the Director General of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) Pau Roca, in France.

The parties discussed the issues of organizing a Vine Festival in Uzbekistan. It was noted that at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, in the first ten days of September, it is planned to hold this festival in Parkent district.

Pau Roca highly appreciated this decision and expressed the willingness of the OIV to take part in the preparation of this important event. He also emphasized that Uzbekistan is an active participant among 48 participating countries. The OIV Director General announced his readiness to hold an event under the patronage of the organization, which will first need to be agreed upon in the relevant committee of the OIV.

An interest was expressed in obtaining a candidacy of a highly qualified specialist for appointment as an Advisor to the Hokim of the region for viticulture.

Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on organizing a scientific workshop with the OIV as part of an event dedicated to the potential of Uzbekistan in viticulture and winemaking. In addition, the parties expressed their readiness to jointly find a highly qualified specialist to be appointed as an Advisor to the Hokim of the region for viticulture.
