Uzbekistan, Sweden Foreign Ministers discussed priority areas of interaction within the UN, EU and OSCE, as well as mechanisms for mutual support of international initiatives

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, has held talks with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Ann Linde, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to MFA, heads of foreign ministries discussed the state and prospects for development of Uzbekistan – Sweden relations in various spheres, exchanged views on the current issues of cooperation within the framework of international structures.

Intensification of bilateral political dialogue was emphasized. In this context, the importance of the regular organization of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was noted.

The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties, build up cooperation in human rights protection, establish contacts in the judicial, legal and law enforcement spheres.

The ministers paid special attention to the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, implementation of joint investment projects in digitalization of the economic sectors, mechanical engineering, industry, energy and pharmaceuticals.

Priority areas of interaction within the UN, EU and OSCE, as well as mechanisms for mutual support of international initiatives of the parties were also discussed.
