Tashkent hosted a roundtable discussion on “Transport diplomacy of the Republic of Uzbekistan: International legal foundations of regional cooperation”.
The event was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies, academic and business circles, the media.
It was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Regional Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Central Asia.
The participants of the event discussed the state of regional cooperation, problems arising during the transportation of goods, as well as ways to solve them. The advantages of introducing a paperless system in international traffic were noted.
The participants exchanged views on improving the legal framework and the practical implementation of international agreements on the development of new transport and transit corridors, the formation of favorable conditions for the efficient transportation and processing of foreign trade goods of Uzbekistan in international transport corridors.
The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that attaching strategic importance to improving the transport industry, Uzbekistan is taking measures aimed at developing transport infrastructure at the national and regional levels, as well as its integration into the international transport system.
