Uzbekistan to create a national education platform

The Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan has developed a draft law providing for creation of a television studio, the Online School project, which has already been introduced on a permanent basis.

The draft law states that within a month large scale activity will be carried out on the technical equipment of the new studio, and by September 1, the national educational platform maktab.uz will be created. It will help streamline the distance education system that has developed in the country during the coronavirus pandemic.

All curricula of the educational platform will be created on the basis of online digital distribution services for computer games and STEAM programs in cooperation with specialized, creative, as well as presidential schools in the country. Discovery, National Geographic and BBC television documentaries will be broadcast.

Cellular companies will be obliged to popularize maktab.uz portal with the help of SMS and other additional services free of charge, and the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan will allocate resources for its virtual server on preferential terms.
