Uzbekistan, UK sign a Memorandum on training English teachers

Negotiations have been held between the Rector of Navoi State Pedagogical Institute (NSPI) Bakhodir Sobirov and the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the British University of Sunderland (UoS) John Macintyre with the participation of representatives of the two higher education institutions, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The British side highly appreciated the strategic approach of Uzbekistan to the development of the education sector, emphasized the readiness of UoS for a long-term partnership with the NSPI in terms of training highly qualified personnel who speak English professionally based on British quality standards.

Following the talks, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed, providing for the practical implementation of agreements in several areas. Representatives of the British university invited the leadership of the NSPI to the UK and expressed their readiness to visit Uzbekistan to hold negotiations with Uzbekistan higher education institutions.
