Uzbekistan Permanent Mission to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva has organized a videoconference with World Trade Organization (WTO) representatives to discuss issues of Uzbekistan’s joining the Organization.
The videoconference was attended by the Director of the Accessions Division, Maika Oshikawa, head of the Working Group on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Ji-ah Paik. The Uzbek side was represented by Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade, head of the negotiation group for accession to the WTO Badriddin Abidov and head of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in the city of Geneva, Ulugbek Lapasov.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, interaction with the WTO Secretariat for preparation for the next meeting of the Working Group on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO was discussed at the videoconference.
It was emphasized that despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Government pays special attention to intensifying the dialogue with the WTO.
Foreign partners expressed support for the Government of Uzbekistan in joining the WTO.
