The pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan has achieved good results in recent years. The number of manufacturers of medicines has increased.
At present, 146 enterprises are engaged in the production of pharmaceutical products in our country, which produce more than 2 thousand medicines and medical products. The press conference, organized by "Uzfarmsanoat", was dedicated to issues that the pharmaceutical industry faces.
It was stressed at the press conference that at the moment domestic enterprises cover 54% of the population’s need for medicines. In the development of the pharmaceutical industry, important program resolutions are the decisions of the President of our country. In particular, "On Program of Measures for Further Development of the Republic’s Pharmaceutical Industry for 2016-2020" dated September 16, 2016. According to the document, organizations specializing in the production of medicines, where the share of the proceeds from the production of these goods is at least 60 percent following the results of the reporting period, are exempt from income tax, property tax, single tax payment for micro firms and small enterprises, payment of mandatory contributions to the Republican Road Fund, until January 1, 2021.
Meanwhile, the Decree of the head of our state "On measures to further improve the provision of the population with medicines and medical products" dated October 31, 2016, identifies major tasks related to satisfy better the needs of the population in quality medicines and medical products of domestic production. A list of 343 socially important medicines and medical products was approved.
In addition, the protocol decision of the Republican Commission established fixed contract wholesale and retail prices as well as supply prices for imported medicines and medical products.
"Uzfarmsanoat" together with the Ministry of Health organized a mobile exhibition of socially important medicines and medical products produced by domestic producers in each region of the republic to increase awareness of the heads of medical and preventive institutions, wholesale pharmaceutical enterprises.
