5 MEDALS OF PARALYMPIC TEAM

National Paralympic team of Uzbekistan represented by 9 sportsman partcipated at the Open Asian Championship on powerlifting among athletes with disabilities, which was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan), press service of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.

At competitions, Uzbek athletes won five medals. Winner of the bronze medal in the women’s weight category 45 kg became Roza Kuzieva. She has earned a license to participate in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Gold medals among juniors were awarded to Farhod Umirzakov (72 kg) and Hamid Rajapov (54 kg), who set a record of Asia. Also Kudratoy Toshpulatova (50 kg) and Doston Abdusattorov (80 kg) won bronze and silver medals, respectively.

Recall that this championship was attended by over 280 athletes from 32 countries.
