A DREAM THAT HAS COME TRUE

The final stage of the contest “Yurt kelajagi” hosted by the children’s health-improvement summer camp “Lochin” focused on ideas, original projects, new solutions and bright creative works.

It looks like the atmosphere itself is conducive here for new creative achievements and discoveries. For five days the participants, surrounded by the best architectural structures - the Eiffel Tower, “Registon”, “Taj Mahal”, and the Egyptian pyramids, or rather their small copies - not only fought for the victory, but more importantly, grew up professionally.

There is no wonder that many dream to get to the final state of the Republican contest, since each finalist receives an invaluable gift - communication with one’s peers in a picturesque part of the Qashqqadaryo region and participation in master classes conducted by professionals in the area. Every year is formed a certain community of creative people, engineers, and programmers in the camp, who continue to socialize also beyond the boundaries of the competition.

This year 446 participants in the contest received “tickets” to the finals out of more than 60 thousand contenders. As it has become customary, trainers work with the children for the first few days in each of the four directions: “Architecture and Design”, “Information technology, rationalization proposals and technical developments”, “Traditional and Applied Arts”, “Literature and Journalism”. They also discussed the problems related to the improvement of their project or the work of art, and what to pay attention to in the process of its creation. Many questions were raised by the contestants themselves, the answers to which they received fr om the best experts. No wonder that all jury members noted that this year were presented very interesting and original works. Some participants come to the camp not the first time, gaining more experience and getting more helpful tips with every passing year, and come back with their improved works.

“Several children had taken part in the contest in the past, but did not join the top three. Today they amaze us with their works. Many have received patents; some got the certificates of implementation and still others can boast of economic efficiency of their developments. We are pleased that many have published their articles on their developments not only in our country, but also in Russia, Germany and India,” says chairman of the jury in the “Technical developments” nomination Qosim Tokhtakhunov. “Many of them are already quite mature specialists, who had undergone good school at this camp. There is a new generation of 15-16 year old boys. They will have, no doubt, to work hard, but they already have got “golden hands”. That means that there is certain continuity in this process. One of the participants of the contest thanked us for not awarding him a victory after a few years. He started working even harder and currently he owns several production facilities. Everybody of them needs an individual approach. We try to point out not only the boys’ strong points but also their weaknesses.”

There were many works which deserved a victory. For example, Ozodbek Ergashev from Andijon designed a special desk for training deaf and dump children to study the alphabet and articulation. Having studied the experiences of specialized school wh ere the tutors work with every pupil on an individual basis he created a special device for working simultaneously with 12 children. This helps significantly to speed up and simplify the training process. Uktam Khoshimov from Navoi presented a project on the production of valuable components from pulp, which may produce a tremendous economic effect after its implementation.

Programmers too demonstrated their interesting projects. Ma’ruf Tayirov from Bukhara designed a mobile application capable to save human life. It is intended for people suffering from heart diseases. In the event of a heart attack the user need to click on the button, and the first aid “ambulance” will get the signal about his whereabouts.

The direction of fine and applied arts is represented, as always, by the entire diversity of genres: landscapes, portraits, graphics, miniature, wood carving, traditional embroidery, carpet-weaving and many more. Besides, also were represented modern directions in the applied art, such as kwilling, as well as pictures made of straw.

Future architects have created a wide variety of models with all the details. These include dream homes, hotels, restaurants, shopping and business centers. There was also a “smart home” model, which attracted all participants’ attention. Its sensor gates respond to the host’s vehicle, a gazebo in winter can go down under the ground while its roof opens up and there emerge solar batteries.

In a word, there were so many interesting projects, and that means that all the participants had well prepared for the final contest.

The best contestants were awarded with valuable prizes at the gala concert performed by the stars of the Uzbek pop music.
