President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Donald Trump continued negotiations with participation of delegations of the two countries. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Main attention was paid to development of trade and economic cooperation. Issues of enhancing relations between ministries and agencies, companies and business circles, implementation of joint investment projects in the fields of trade, industry, energy, transport and others were considered.
Despite the current bilateral trade regime of the most favored nation, the volume of mutual trade does not correspond to the existing opportunities. In 2017, this figure slightly exceeded 210 million dollars. In fact, the economies of such a developed country as the United States and developing Uzbekistan are capable of more.
The President of Uzbekistan having analyzed these and other aspects of bilateral cooperation, pointed to unused opportunities, mutually beneficial and promising areas for cooperation.
The opening of foreign currency conversion in Uzbekistan, a new and modern investment climate, guarantees provided by the state for direct investment were emphasized.
After the negotiations, President Donald Trump has seen off President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
