A TRUE SON OF THE NATION

Mourning ceremonies are being held in all districts and cities of the Republic in connection with the passing of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. People lay flowers to the portrait of the President and pay tribute to his memory.

Karshi

Representatives of enterprises, organizations and institutions, residents of Kashkadarya region come to the “El-yurt tayanchi” monument these days to lay flowers to the portrait of the head of our state set in the regional center.

The appearance of towns and villages have changed during the years of independence, new industrial enterprises, scientific institutions, cultural and sports facilities have been built, the living standard and well-being of the population have been increased, and landscaping and improvement work carried out.

These activities include, in particular, fundamental restructuring of the cities of Karshi and Shakhrisabz. In accordance with the Decree of the President the territory of the regional center was expanded from 9 to 17 thousand ha. Work on the improvement and landscaping the Kashkadarya River banks and organization of modern public recreation zones for the population, initiated by the head of state, were fully completed on the eve of the holiday.

“The memory of the founder of independent Uzbekistan, the first President Islam Karimov will remain forever in our hearts,” noted chairman of the regional Association of Trade Unions Eson Rajabov. “When he had started his activity in our region, the situation was extremely complicated. But our leader carried out measures on the improvement of life for residents of Kashkadarya region, created conditions for the development of private household farms and allocated land plots to the population for cultivation of farm crops. He used to focus his attention on the interests of man, improvement of people’s living conditions and creation of decent conditions for our children.”

Tashkent Region

Representatives of the government and public organizations, veterans of labor and the youth assembled in the regional Center of spirituality and enlightenment.

Speakers noted that a large-scale creative work had been carried out in the region during the years of independence. Radical structural transformations and renovations serve the cause of consistent advancement of the region’s modern industry. Numerous modern enterprises, manufacturing competitive output for domestic needs and for export, were set up with the participation of foreign investors.

“President Islam Karimov said at this year’s session of the regional Kengash of people’s deputies that the Tashkent region held a leading position in the country,” noted labor veteran S.Salokhiddinov, commander of the “El-yurt hizmati” order. “He had done much to help raise the capital region to a higher level of its development, and secure the ever-growing demand and consumption of its residents. The great work carried out by the head of our state on the road of prosperity of our Motherland and bringing up the younger generation will be inscribed in letters of gold in the history of our country.”

Navoi

Representatives of the government and public organizations, establishments and organizations, the elders and the youth gathered at the Central Park of culture and recreation named after Alisher Navoi.

Speakers noted that tremendous work had been carried out under the leadership of the head of our state during a relatively short historical period of time, which changed people’s attitude to life, their conscience and way of thinking. The passing of this great man was bereavement for the nation.

“The youth especially mourns in connection with Islam Karimov’s death,” says commander of the “Shukhrt” medal B.Abdullayev. “The head of our state had continuously appealed to the youth calling on them to achieve high goals and results. The youths and girls will have to be worthy of the President’s trust, who had created all conditions for us to display our talent and potential. We will fulfill his wishes through applying all our strength and potential for the benefit of our country.”

Namangan

Representatives of the government and public organization and citizens’ makhalla assemblies gathered in the “Bokhi eram” park in the regional center.

“Islam Karimov has left an indelible trace in the history of the Uzbek people as a prominent figure. He has been able to demonstrate the role of a personality in history through the example of his bright life,” said editor-in-chief of the “Namangan sadosi” newspaper Komiljon Fayziyev. “This great personality will remain in the hearts of our people, who our First President dedicated his whole life to.”

Fergana

Representatives of enterprises and establishments, the youth, and thousands of residents of Fergana came to the square in front of the Theatrical-concert palace in the regional center and laid flowers to the portrait of the head of our state.

Under the leadership of President Islam Karimov great creative work has been carried out in Fergana region like in all other regions of our country during the years of independence. The sectors of economy underwent deep reforms, the legal, logistical, organizational and such other fields were also improved. Production of high quality and competitive output made from local raw materials has been developing at accelerated rates as a result of incentives created for the development of small businesses and private entrepreneurship, in support of investors, particularly foreign partners. More than 150 joint ventures operate in the region today.

The appearance of ancient cities of Marghilon and Kokand has changed beyond recognition. They have not only become modern and attractive, but also advanced ones. Large-scale creative work is being carried out in Fergana. Modern educational and medical establishments, sports complexes, stadiums, production enterprises, bridges and roads have been built and laid out in the city.

The names and heritage of our great ancestors, such as Akhmad Farghoni and Brkhoniddin Marghinoni had been revived and their jubilee celebrations marked widely on a global scale. And those events reflect the great attention paid by the head of our state to our history and spirituality.

“The memory of our great statesman, our beloved Leader will remain forever in the hearts of our people,” says Hero of Uzbekistan Manzura Madaliyeva. “Our First President Islam Karimov laid the beginning of our independent state of Uzbekistan and had taken it out to the great road of progress. Tremendous work carried out by him on the road of the people’s prosperity will be inscribed forever in the annuls of history.”

Samarkand

Residents of the Samarkand and other regions of the country as well as foreign guests assembled at the “Forumlar majmuasi” complex.

“Speaking at the opening ceremony of the International conference “Historical heritage of scholars and thinkers of Medieval East, its role and significance for modern civilization” the President noted that there could be no development for science without stability. And if it was there, only then could emerge academies and higher educational institutions, and people would be willing of grow and develop,” noted professor of the Samarkand State University, Merited mentor of the youth of the Republic M.Mukhiddinov. “Islam Karimov was a guarantor of peace and stability in our country, and paid special attention to bringing up the youth, and development of spirituality and literature. Thanks to it, Samarkand turned into a center of science and culture, like it used to be during the epoch of Amir Temur. There are eight higher educational institutions in the city; the Forums’ complex, built at the initiative of the head of state, hosts international scientific conferences and political events. Every other year cultural and art figures from all continents take part at the international “Sharq taronalari” musical festival and study the history and traditions of national music. The memory of this great man will remain forever in our hearts.”
