Sheikha Fadia al-Sabah, Chairwoman of the Kuwaiti Union of Women’s Associations, shared her thoughts with "Dunyo" IA about the significance of the Asian Women’s Forum, which started today in Samarkand:
This initiative means a lot to Uzbekistan and its President. By hosting such an important international event focusing on women’s empowerment, Uzbekistan is sending a strong message about its dedication to this cause. There are special efforts by the Uzbek government to empower women through initiatives that promote exchange of experiences and networking among women.
The forum will cover various aspects of women’s empowerment, including gender equality, support for women entrepreneurs and families, and adherence to UN charters aimed at eliminating discrimination against women and children. These issues are fundamental and have been prioritized by the UN through its charters and international treaties.
Participation in this conference is crucial for our union because we aim to showcase Kuwaiti women and their achievements on an international platform. Since our establishment, our primary focus has been to highlight Kuwaiti women’s contributions internationally. Engaging in such international gatherings and conferences, both within and outside Kuwait, allows us to actively promote Kuwaiti women and expand their international networks.
These international activities provide valuable opportunities for Kuwaiti women to exchange experiences, gain insights, and strengthen their international networks. It allows them to showcase their accomplishments and learn from others, ultimately contributing to their empowerment on a global scale.
