AKIPRESS NEWS AGENCY: UZBEKISTAN IN 2015 WILL PRODUCE 18 MILLION TONS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

An electronic portal of the Kyrgyz AKIpress news agency published an article that introduces readers to the achievements in agriculture of Uzbekistan.

The source informs that in our country in the current year it is planned to produce more than 18 million tons of fruits and vegetables. Thus, 80% of this figure is enough to meet the needs of the population, the rest will be reprocessed, directed on export and seed purposes.

"Last year, the harvest totaled nearly 17.5 million tons (9.2% more than in 2013), including vegetables - 9.3 million tons, potatoes - 2.5 million tons, melons and gourds - 1 7 million tons of grapes - 1.5 million tons, and others".

As edition reports, it has contributed to the state support allowed manufacturers to increase profits through the introduction of new methods aimed at increasing productivity, as well as the rational use of water resources farms.

"Taking into account the geographical location and climatic conditions, fruit and vegetable products are mainly produced in the regions of the country such as Samarkand, Tashkent, Andijan, Ferghana, Surkhandarya, Namangan and Bukhara regions", - news agency informs.

The article focuses on the subject of export deliveries of Uzbek fruit and vegetables. In particular, it is emphasized that this type of goods transported annually in the amount of 1.3-1.5 billion USD in more than 40 countries. Only in 2014 the geography of deliveries has expanded through the development of additional markets - Italy (apricot kernels), Czech Republic (dried apricots, peanuts), Malaysia (mung bean), Vietnam (mung bean), Singapore (cherries and apricots and fresh), and Lebanon (walnut).

As noted in the article, if in 2010 while exporting 690.5 thousand tons of fresh, bean and dried products 1.2 billion USD has been received, then in 2014 for 611.9 thousand tons of the like product brought 1.5 billion USD income.
