Director of the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama.
The sides noted that the meeting is being held in preparation for the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to Japan. It was noted that Uzbekistan and Japan are trying to consistently develop cooperation in all spheres.
Currently, joint projects in the fields of socio-economic, cultural, humanitarian and tourism attraction of Japanese companies’ investments into the economy of Uzbekistan, strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties are giving their results. Both countries pay special attention to strengthening cooperation.
As is known, on December 8 this year marks the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this regard, the Center jointly with Tashkent State University of Law organizes the Uzbek-Japanese legal forum on constitutional studies. Mr. Fujiyama showed great interest in the upcoming conference.
The Japanese ambassador’s project to publish the Japanese Constitution in Japanese and Uzbek on the initiative of the Center also attracted the Japanese ambassador’s attention. At the same time, the Japanese Constitution has been translated into Uzbek, with a brief dictionary and annotated texts.
The sides also exchanged views on the publication of the colorful book “Uzbekistan - in the heart of Japan”, dedicated to the memory of the famous Japanese scientist and public figure, owner of the Order of Friendship of Uzbekistan Kato Kudzo.
During the meeting, the sides discussed promising areas of mutual interest, including exchange of experience in the areas of human rights, education and culture, expanding cooperation and other important issues.
