Charlotte Adriaen, Head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, shared her insights on the Asian Women’s Forum:
– It is indeed a significant achievement in progress towards ending violence against women and promoting gender equality. We have observed a notable emphasis on gender equality in Uzbekistan’s New Constitution. Moreover, there are more women in universities, and women’s financial opportunities are expanding.
This trajectory must be sustained. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s evident concern for this cause, alongside the active engagement of Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, underscores a society enriched by diverse ideas and innovation.
