Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan, held talks today with Ayano Kunimitsu, newly appointed State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during their meeting, the parties reviewed key topics on the bilateral agenda and explored promising avenues for expanding cooperation between their countries, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, State Minister underscored that Uzbekistan is regarded by Japan as an important strategic partner, noting that the Japanese side highly values the long-standing cooperation between the two countries - a partnership built on mutual trust and respect.
It was noted with satisfaction that in recent years cooperation between the two countries has been steadily expanding across a broad range of areas, including political and inter-parliamentary dialogue, trade and economic partnership, as well as cultural, humanitarian and tourism exchanges.
In particular, it was emphasized that the visit of Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs to Uzbekistan in August of this year, as well as the first-ever Strategic Dialogue between the foreign ministers of the two countries, has made a significant contribution to further intensifying bilateral engagement.
Following the talks, both sides agreed to maintain a regular dialogue aimed at further deepening and comprehensively advancing Uzbek–Japanese cooperation.
