An official opening ceremony of the first Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan took place in Ganja, one of the ancient cities of Azerbaijan, reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.
The official opening ceremony was held in the presence of the head of the Executive Power of the city of Ganja, Niyazi Bayramov, heads of the Turkish and Georgian consulates in Ganja, representatives of the business community, science, the city public and local media.
The participants noted that this event creates an excellent opportunity for further enhancing and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and partnership between fraternal countries and peoples. It was also noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Uzbekistan in Ganja will be recorded as a historical event in the chronicle of cooperation between the two fraternal countries.
Kanan Jalilov was appointed the First Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan.
The Honorary Consulate will help protect the rights and interests of citizens of our country, develop economic cooperation, attract investment and tourists to Uzbekistan, and foster cultural and humanitarian ties.
After the official opening ceremony, embassy staff organized a reception for compatriots residing in this city.
