ANCESTORS' LEGACY FOR THE BENEFIT OF CONTEMPORARIES

Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” (TITF-2015) started at the UzExpoCenter in the Uzbek capital on 5 Ocotber. This year, the fair is organized for the 21st time and last till 7 October.

Executive Director of UNWTO Zoltan Somogyi, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Sergey Korneev, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan attended the opening ceremony.

According to the organizers, the TITF 2015 occupies 2,000 square meters of closed pavilions and open air pavilios of UzExpoCenter. Leading tourism companies, hotels, regional branches of Uzbektourism, private tourism companies from foreign states will present their products and opportunities.

Over 700 companies from Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, UAE, Turkey, Latvia, Slovakia, India, Thailand, Turkmenistan, France, China, Spain and Vietnam are participating in the event.

The programme of the fair includes presentation of foreign companies and countries, National Cuisine Festival, Oriential Bazaar, master class on ceramics, international conference “Preserving cultural heritage as contribution to development of tourism in Uzbekistan”.

The conference discussed issues of preservation and promotion of cultural heritage for the development of tourism in Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan’s role in the development of tourism along the Silk Road, a modern condition and prospects of development of the training system in the tourism sector.

Priority feature of the TITF-2015 is a specialized Hosted buyers’ programme, which involves large tourist companies from Russia, Germany, Israel, Italy and other countries.
