“AT THE FOOT OF KILIMANJARO”: “JOURNEY TO UZBEKISTAN WILL LEAVE AN INDELIBLE IMPRESSION AND AN URGE TO COME BACK HERE AGAIN AND AGAIN”

A program, dedicated to our country, was broadcasted last weekend in the popular Italian show “At the foot of Kilimanjaro”.

The video was filmed in the late summer of the year as part of the tour program of the representatives in Uzbekistan’s cities: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.

“At the foot of Kilimanjaro” is being aired on State TV channel RAI 3 and a TV guide to countries and continents.

The story noted that Uzbekistan is a country that has one of the richest histories of the Central Asian region. Ancient architectural structure, located in the cities of the Republic once served as a major commercial and cultural center on the Silk Road, were mentioned as an example of the fact.

“The Uzbeks have always maintained their identity, traditions and customs, - reported in the broadcast. - They are friendly and hospitable. The capital of the Republic is Tashkent, with more than three million inhabitants, is the largest city in the country with monumental administrative buildings, large parks and residential buildings. The beautiful mountain sceneries are seen here; you can also take walks or practice various sports such as horse riding, paragliding, mountaineering and so on the mountains”.

It is also told about Khiva: “The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is not surprising, because it is “Caravan” city of perfection, unparalleled in the world and is one of those rare places where the original architectural features were kept, without losing contact with antiquity.

Four input ports are located behind the long defensive walls, where merchants brought precious commodities. Today, the western gates are the main entrance to the old town.

There is the minaret “Islam Khoja” in the center of citadel, at the level of 57 meters, which is the highest in the country and resembling the lighthouse.

The restaurant offers to watch the preparation of traditional bread, the symbol of family, fr om a mixture of wheat flour, mutton fat, milk and butter, baked in a traditional oven – “tandoor”.

The next part of Italian program was about Bukhara. It reported that its first buildings date from the beginning of I century BC. You can find a few markets that sell luxury carpets, ceramics and jewelry in the old part of Bukhara.

“Magoki-Attari” mosque, presumably the oldest in Central Asia, is the most sacred place in the city. Wh ere you can immerse in the folk tradition. It is a complex of majestic and imposing madrassa, an abundance of tiles, blue mosaics and huge harmonious spaces. It is the main city monument”.

Along with this, the program authors offered viewer to move to central square of Samarkand. Registan is surrounded by three majestic buildings, which are the oldest among the preserved madrassas.

“The ensemble Shahi Zinda is the most impressive and beloved Samarkand avenue of mausoleums, some of which are decorated with glazed tiles best work in the Muslim world! Its name means “Tomb of alive King” and refers to the sanctuary, around which is the tomb of Kusama ibn Abbas, the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad, who is said to have brought Islam to the region in the VII century.

Bibi Khanum mosque, built shortly before the death of the ruler Timur, is certainly one of the most significant works of the architects of his state.

The conclusion emphasized that the trip to Uzbekistan - is the opportunity to see amazing imagination construction and landscapes, ancient buildings that resemble oriental tales. All this will surely leave an indelible impression and an urge to come back here again and again.
