AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY OF UZBEKISTAN PRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION IN TURIN

As part of Exhibition Affidabilità & Tecnologie ("Reliability and technology") Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Piedmont region and the Embassy of our country in Rome organized a presentation on the topic "Automotive: potential and opportunities in Uzbekistan" with the participation of delegation JSC "Uzavtosanoat".

Our information: International Exhibition "Safety and Technology" organized in Turin annually since 2007. Today the exhibition is included in the list of major international events for representatives of small and medium-sized companies specializing in the production and the search of useful new technologies and solutions to reduce costs, increase competitiveness, productivity and reliability.

In 2015 it was attended by 310 companies with separate pavilions and more than 10 thousand visitors from around the world.

Presentation of the achievements of the automotive industry in Uzbekistan has caused genuine interest among the participants, especially given the fact that the main theme of the international exhibition this year has been focused around the issue of creation of new competitive innovation in the automotive sector.

Particular attention was attended by leaders - more than 100 Italian small and medium enterprises, specializing in the production of spare parts for the automotive sector was the fact that the country within a short historical period has mastered an entirely new industry. The participants stressed that the automotive industry of Uzbekistan is organized at a high level in collaboration with world-renowned companies such as Chevrolet, Isuzu, MAN.

As General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Piedmont region Guido Bolatti noted in his welcoming speech to the participants, Italian companies successfully operate in the Uzbek market and are interested in expanding their business contacts with Uzbek enterprises.

According to him, an indicator of high interest of Italian business circles is the fact that trade between the two countries in 2014 increased by 64 percent compared with the previous year. - Today Uzbekistan is a dynamically developing country in all spheres of the economy. The automotive sector is one of the drivers of the ongoing modernization of the country with the assistance of advanced foreign technologies, - he said.

Advisor to the Governor of Piedmont for international affairs Gulia Marcon said that last year hosted a successful visit of the mission of business circles of Uzbekistan in its region. At the end of this year it planned another trip of representatives of small and medium-sized manufacturers in the republic. In her opinion, this fact testifies to increase the interest on the part of the Italian business to attractive investment and economic opportunities created in our country.

Presentations were also made by the rector of the Politecnico di Torino Marco Gili, a branch of which was established in Tashkent on a special decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 27 April, 2009.

M. Gili noted that the activities of the university - the Tashkent Polytechnic University of Turin (TPUT) provides for the further development and improvement of training specialists with higher education for high-tech industries, industrial and civil engineering and construction up to advanced educational standards, as well as increased international cooperation in the field of higher education.

He stressed that the Uzbek side has created favorable conditions for the effective functioning TTPU, is today a major regional hub that connects education with industry to accelerate the establishment of technology transfer.

— Today, the university enrolled 700 students, 35 of them continued their Master’s studies in Turin. Expanding activities TTPU is yet another confirmation of the Uzbek model of education oriented on training of highly qualified personnel with all international requirements and standards, - he stressed.

Favorable investment conditions created in our country have been disclosed in detail in the presentation, which was presented to the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry "Italy-Uzbekistan" Luigi Iperti (Italy).

In turn, representatives of "Uzavtosanoat" gave detailed information on the status and prospects of the automotive sector in Uzbekistan, in particular, the production of cars, trucks and specialized machinery, engines and key component parts, as well as modern agricultural machinery on the basis of the development of new models of the world.

Such Italian companies as CORNAGLIA SPA, FIMS, GHIGGIA INGEGNERIA D’IMPIANTI, ICOM Impianti di lavaggio industriale, IDEST, INGLASS, MATRIX, MECAPROM TCO ITALIA SRL, MTM, OMS, ROTOTECH SRL, SAMEC , SICOMAT, TELMA, SO.ME.L., - SOCIETA MECCANICA LEVONESE - SPA, TECNOCAD PROGETTI, TESSITURA MABIEL SRL, TIESSE ROBOT SPA, TORINO DESIGN and others have shown special interest in joint work in the automotive sector of Uzbekistan.

During the second part of the event - the cooperation exchange, prospects for participation of Italian companies in the process of modernization and further development of the automotive industry of Uzbekistan were discussed.
