Azerbaijan's experience in taxation studied

As part of strengthening international cooperation in the tax sphere, a delegation of the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.

The primary purpose of the visit was to study Azerbaijan’s experience in tax administration and taxation.

The discussion covered a wide range of issues, including tools for reducing the level of the “shadow economy”, improving tax legislation, and priority areas for tax administration development.

The Uzbek side was particularly interested in Azerbaijan’s experience in VAT administration. During the three-day visit, representatives of the Tax Committee will get acquainted with the mechanism of VAT deposit accounts, the VAT refund system, and changes in legislation regulating these aspects.

Following the meeting, it was emphasized that business contacts and exchange of experience contribute to strengthening cooperation and help develop shared solutions for effective tax management in the two countries.
