Belén Sanz Luque: It is imperative that we invest in women and their initiatives while bolstering women's leadership across all sectors

Regional Director for UN Women Europe and Central Asia, Belen Sanz Luque, shared her thoughts on the Asian Women’s Forum:

I found myself deeply inspired by the speeches delivered by several distinguished speakers at the Asian Women’s Forum in Samarkand. Particularly, the call to action from Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, and Sima Sami Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, underscores the shared responsibility we all bear at various levels.
Parliaments play a pivotal role in advancing gender equality. It is imperative that we invest in women and their initiatives while bolstering women’s leadership across all sectors. Civil society, too, must be actively engaged in driving this agenda forward. I eagerly anticipate further insights and experiences emerging from this Forum, which presents significant tasks for us all.
