Bridges – symbol of the country's creative potential

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a modern overpass, erected at the intersection of Bunyodkor and Chupon-ota streets of Chilanzar district in Tashkent.

Many bridges and overpasses are being built in Tashkent in order to ensure traffic safety, prevent traffic jams, create amenities for pedestrians. A modern building erected at the intersection of Bunyodkor and Chupon-ota streets is among them.

The new bridge, built on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is an important part of the ongoing large-scale work on improving the road infrastructure of Tashkent, preserving its historical appearance, turning the city into a modern metropolis, and creating amenities for the population.

The total length of the overpass, erected by “Kuprik qurilish trest” company under Uzbekistan Railways is 667.5 meters, the length of the overpass is 488.5 meters, the width is 24.5 meters, the bridge consists of 21 pillars. Movement on the bridge is a six-lane. At the same time, two overground pedestrian crossings with length of 124 meters are erected. Elevators and escalators are installed for the convenience of disabled and elderly.

The Head of the state got acquainted with constructive work carried out here, talked with builders.

– Our own school of bridge building has been formed in the country, – the President said. – I express my special gratitude to builders of this bridge. The following such structures should also be of high quality and durable. For this, it is necessary to study the best foreign experience in the sphere of building bridges, exchange experience. In a word, bridges should also become a symbol of our creative potential.

About 50 units of equipment and over 250 workers participated in construction of the facility. 35.7 thousand cubic meters of sand and 42.6 thousand cubic meters of concrete work were completed. Improvement and landscaping activity was carried out in the adjacent territory, decorative trees were planted.

When designing a new structure, special attention was paid to lighting system. Energy saving lanterns are installed on the bridge.

Here, the Head of the state was provided with information on the state of bridges, innovations and further plans in the sphere. The project of repair of overpasses and bridges with the assistance of special equipment produced by CRAFCO (USA) was demonstrated. This company is the world leader in innovative technologies for construction and operation of overpasses and bridges.

The Head of the state got acquainted with the project and gave relevant instructions on effective use of CRAFCO’s technologies, and advanced training of specialists.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the Culture and Recreation Park named after Gafur Gulam, gave instructions on its reconstruction in accordance with modern requirements, organizing water parks of open and closed type. Emphasized that no tree here should be felled.
