Budapest hosts spiritual and educational event highlighting President of Uzbekistan's Address to the Oliy Majlis and the Nation

A cultural and educational event was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary, bringing together Uzbek compatriots who are permanently residing in or temporarily visiting the country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Particular attention was drawn to efforts aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s position on the international stage, ensuring macroeconomic stability, enhancing the effectiveness of ongoing reforms and building greater confidence among foreign investors and international partners.

Participants were presented with the core messages and key provisions of the Address of the President of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan. It was noted that the Address provides a comprehensive assessment of the country’s socio-economic development, highlights the achievements of recent years and sets out priority directions and objectives for the period ahead.

Special emphasis was placed on the relevance of the Address’s goals and objectives for compatriots living abroad, as well as on the importance of further deepening economic, humanitarian and cultural ties with the Uzbek diaspora.

The discussions emphasised that a central priority of state policy remains the improvement of living standards, alongside the promotion of employment, the reduction of unemployment and poverty, and the continued development of energy, utilities, housing and transport infrastructure.

The event also highlighted the President’s initiative to declare 2026 as the “Year of Mahalla Development and the Whole Society”, an initiative designed to advance local infrastructure, support entrepreneurship, create new jobs and strengthen social cohesion.

Overall, it was noted that the President’s Address reflects a coherent and long-term vision for the country’s development, sets clear strategic benchmarks and aims to unite society around the goals of sustainable development, stability and prosperity.
