BUNYODKOR TAKES OVER PAKHTAKOR IN TASHKENT DERBY

In a central match of the 26th round of the Uzbekistan football premier league two teams from Tashkent - Bunyodkor and Pakhtakor clashed with each other.

Having met each other 17 times in the premier league, Bunyodkor had an advantage with five wins, while Pakhtakor had four, eight matches were drawn.

No one could net the goal during the first half of yesterday’s match. However, having started the second half with an apparent boost, Bunyodkor’s Akmal Shorakhmedov scored a stunner from a long-distance on 49th minute. On 75th minute, Doston Khamdamov used an opportunity in a counter-attach, leading Bunyodkor with a two goal difference.

In other matches of the round, Lokomotiv hosted Bukhoro and took over with Marat Bikmaev scoring a double 2-1. Mashal from Muborak won Dynamo Samarkand with the same score 2-1.

Another contender for championship Nasaf Karshi won Sugdiyona Jizzakh in an away game with a last-minute goal from Ilkhom Shomurodov. Metallurgh crashed Olmaliq in Tashkent region derby 4-2. Other fixtures were as follows: Navbakhor Namangan - Quqon-1912 2-1, Shurtan Guzar- Qizilqum Navoi 1-3, Neftchi Fergana- Andijan 0-1.
