At scheduled sessions of the local councils of people’s deputies of districts and towns in Samarqand Region, there have been discussions of the issue of recommending candidates for membership of precinct electoral commissions formed in the territory of Samarqand electoral district No 7 for the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, at least 40 days before election day, precinct electoral commissions composed of 5-19 members, including their chairman, deputy chairman and secretary, are formed by district electoral commissions. If a commission comprising up to 7 members is formed then its chairman and secretary are elected. Candidacies for membership of precinct electoral commissions are discussed at meetings of district and town councils of people’s deputies and then recommended to the relevant district electoral commission for confirmation.

At a session of the Pakhtachi district council of people’s deputies, candidacies recommended for membership of 36 precinct electoral commissions in the territory of the district were considered.

“More than 90 thousand citizens in our district will vote in the elections.
